Audio processing

The tuner uses your device microphone to detect pitch in real time. Audio is processed entirely on your device. It is never recorded, stored, or transmitted to our servers or third parties.

Tuning sessions and Activity

When you log an in-tune session, we store tuning metadata (detected note, concert note, frequency, cents offset, A4 reference, transposition, optional instrument, optional context, and optional note). Sessions are private by default and appear only in your Activity. Sharing to Community is optional and creates a moderated post.

Photos

Photos are uploaded only when you explicitly choose to take or select an image. There are three kinds:

Profile photo (avatar) — shown on your public profile and on your posts. Not moderated.

Instrument photos — stored with your personal instruments. Visible to you in the app; not shown in Community unless you share a session. Not moderated.

Community post photos — required when you share a tuning session. Stored privately until approved, then shown publicly after moderation.

Avatar and instrument photos are stored in public storage buckets and are accessible via public URLs. Do not upload images you do not want reachable by URL.

Account data

We store your email, profile (username, display name, bio, primary instrument, avatar), instruments, private tuning sessions, and any Community posts you create. You can delete your account and associated data from Settings → Delete account. Deletion removes your auth user, profile, posts and post images, instruments and instrument photos, avatar, and tuning sessions.

Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Deleted accounts are removed within 30 days, except where law requires longer retention.

Third parties

We use Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage. We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs in version 1.0.
